Pugs have a wonderful temperament that makes them an ideal family dog and companion.  Although, if you're looking for a dog that can chase your kids and stay out in the yard for hours, then you may not be looking for a pug.  Pugs are super sensitive to heat and usually aren't very active for long periods of time.  

Pugs usually aren't good watch dogs, because not too often do they ever meet a stranger.  However, they do have a nice bark for a small dog and are the largest of the toy breed.  Pugs are very social animals and for the most part eager to please their humans
